It should be noted that the Kuala Lumpur airport is very wide and the number of passengers on entry is very large so you should arrange your time to check-in the flight on time.
If you do not get on the plane on time, you take a bus to go to Kuala Terengganu.

If you did not buy cheap air tickets or the time between two flights is not reasonable, you can choose the bus to go from Kuala Lumpur to Kuala Terengganu. This is more suitable for young people than for the families with small children. However, if you accidentally miss a flight, it is the only way to get to Kuala Terengganu in order to catch the boat to Redang in the next morning. The ticket price is RM45 per person (10.5$/pax).
It is mandatory to take the boat from Kuala Terengganu to Redang Beach because the only air route in Redang has stopped operating. In Kuala Terengganu, there are two main piers:
- Shahbandar Jetty (most of the resorts in Redang use this wharf) is just a few kilometers from the center of Kuala Terengganu. It is very convenient but it takes 1.5 hours to go to the island. On Kuala Terengganu, you can buy public boat service tickets to the island, but visitors mainly choose to buy service packages of the resort including shipping charges.
- The second pier is Merang Jetty, which is more than 40 km from Kuala Terengganu center, but from there, it takes only 30 minutes by boat. The Jetty has chosen by a few resorts as a transfer station. If you go in a big group with a lot of luggage, you can contact and book a car van at 8 a.m at the hotel and go directly to Jetty at the price of 80 RM (19$). It is very cheap because a taxi for 4 people costs up to 65-70 RM (15-16$).

The rainy season starts from the end of October to early March in Pulau Redang, Malaysia. Most resorts start to close from September until the end of October.
